Gert Faustmann and Alexandra Kley left no chance to their competitors on Friday at the danceComp in Wuppertal. Winning four out of five dances clearly, they secured the title at the 20th edition of the danceComp.
Out of 170 registered couples, 167 from twelve nations competed in the Senior III Standard category. The reigning World Champions, Gert Faustmann and Alexandra Kley from Berlin, took the win in the Senior III tournament. The Berlin duo led in four of the five dances. Only in the Slow Foxtrot were they edged out by Slawek Lukawczyk and Janine-Nicole Desai from the United Kingdom. However, the British couple placed second in the remaining dances and in the overall ranking. The bronze medal went to Ingo Bauer and Sandra Fürsattel, who secured third place with a strong final dance against Vittorio Bramati and Silvia Martorelli from Italy. Roland and Elonora Holub from Austria finished fifth, and the final was rounded out by Knut and Antje Wichmann from Braunschweig.
