In the Masters V Standard competition, Italy set the standard. Italian couples claimed all three spots on the podium, each receiving a medal. The best German couple, Johann-Georg and Brigitte Salten from Lage, placed fourth after finishing fourth in three dances. Fifth place went to Dr. Dieter and Dr. Christiane Pioch from Munich, ahead of Jos Wollersheim and Annelos Niessen from the Netherlands.
